Well, I´m not from but but been there many times so I can tell you objectively that...
You can survive with English without having much trouble...
About the food expenses...if you keep buying food in the supermarkets you wouldn´t spend more than 1000 CZK/week...
And the people´s nature...well, mainly friendly but you can meet people who don´t like foreigners and have some trouble...anyway, I wouldn´t be much afraid...
Ask me more if you want...

Tak oprava - myslela jsem tím, že můj kámoš, co nemluví česky by chtěl znát Vaše názory... názory více lidí... Nebo mu mám říct že the Czechs are rude and unfriendly? :D
Takže tohle Vám napsal a kd umí anglicky, budeme rádi, když odpoví ;)
Hi!
I'm a spanish student. The next March (2nd week) I´ll go to Prague to finish my studies. I have an amount of questions about Prague!!
-I speak only English & Spanish. My intention is learn Czech there in my free time. Could I survive only with English in Prague? (asking information, shopping, ordering, meeting people...)
- The acommodation expense is covered by an euroship, my question is about the price of the tube, the bus, the meals... How much I could spend each week having meals?
- How is the situation in Prague? (crisis, Unemployment, Wages...)
- How is the youth in Prague? (open minded, friendly....) Could I meet people easily?
Thank you very much for yours answers!
